We are a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder with Accolade ( with merits)  and I am A Kennel Club Affiliate

We Hip and Elbow score our dogs- as this is the way forward and there is some Hip Dysplasia in the breed.We  BAER test ALL our Dalmatians  and have been doing it since the beginning of BAER testing -we are now on 5 th generation. ALL Dalmatian  puppies bred by us are  Micro chipped, then BAER tested, health checked & have their first vaccination by the Vet .They are all  KC registered and they have 4 weeks insurance with PET PLAN  when they go to their new home.

The Italian Spinone is no different. Our aim remains the same.

We will CA test, Hips and Elbows score and any other relevant Health tests required for the Italian Spinone .

Health ,Fit for function, Sound in body and mind ,outstanding  Temperament THAT IS what we aim for here at CHANDHALLY  

2011 has most definitely brought some changes to the Chandhally house hold. We are the very proud owners of REDRUE CHERRIECOLA TO CHANDHALLY  (LOLA)  Bred by Heather McKie -a cracking White and Orange Italian Spinone bitch. So we shall have some fun in the Gundog  group as well as in the Utility Group and not to forget  out in the fields as we are also having a go at training her as a PROPPER GUNDOG.. we shall see. So watch this space and follow her developments In and Out of the ring  ( hopefully in the fields learning her trade HUNT .POINT AND RETRIEVE ). Lola is only 9 weeks old here. Not quite knowing what she is letting herself in for ? So watch her grow up with us. Here they are all sunbathing in early March .

It is very quiet on the show side for us at the moment. We now look very carefully at the judges before we plan to attend a show. We want the dogs to win through their merits- conformation, movements and temperament

We had plenty of show here in Wales in December 2010 out January 2011.A proper  Scandinavian Christmas. 40 cm and up to -8 C. The dogs loved it and so did we,

We sadly lost our stunning liver bitch Irish Champion Dalregis Shooting Star of Chandhally 03/03- 1997 to 11/11-2010 - Pia- Norwegian Champion Chandhally Snow Queen took part in Welsh Top Dog of the year and we had a cracking time of it

CHANDHALLY’S WENT ON TOUR -TOURING SCANDINAVIA - So look out for our story of 6 weeks touring  NORWAY, SWEDEN and DENMARK including the World Show in Denmark

We got 2 NEW CHAMPIONS AT THE CHANDHALLY’S

Pia - CHANDHALLY SNOW QUEEN  gained her Norwegian Champion status in June 2 and  Pia’s Daughter CHANDHALLY CHANTILLY CREAM  From CANNABEE finally got her IRISH CHAMPION TITLE

PIA  was a finalist at the Dalmatian Of The Year competition where our judges were Mrs P Wilson & Mrs P Bailey and Ms J Kitchen CHANDHALLY CUVEE DU PRESIDENT went Reserve Best In Show at Utility Breeds Of Wales 20th February  2010 which qualified Hall for South Wales KC’s Top Open Dog of the Year which WAS held in March 2011 - HALL is a proven stud dog- Hall is available for Stud - Interested ? then please get in touch

We greet you from Croatia  The Dalmatians country of origin.We took the CHANDHALLY girls back to their roots in JUNE 2007.A journey of 3.500 miles.We went to the Dalmatian Coast and the City of ZADAR.The girls swam in the Dalmatian sea and we went to a few big International dog Shows -World Show- In Zagreb.To find out more about our success in the show ring in Croatia / Ireland and UK, visit chandhally news and also go to our new page CROATIA and read about our journey to and from Croatia.You will also see some wonderful photos.We were interviewed by the Dog World reporter and had our photo published in Dog World on the 22nd June 2007We have also been to France where we had Pia mated.A super trip, so why not have a look and see what we were up to.Autumn, a super time of year.The Air is getting fresher, lots of fruits and berries around.Great for the dogs,only problem the wasps also loves them so we do get the odd wasp sting.Thank goodness for antihistamin tablets.Our walks gets longer and a lot more comfertable.The colours around the forest is just lovely.

 I would also urge you to not be fooled by the breeders who are members of the Accredited Breeder Scheme. Many  are NOT a member of any of our breed clubs and they do NOT have to abide by any code of Conducts

So to be on a safer side - look for a Breeder who is    A  KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDER  - ACCOLADE -   this indicates that they are a member of a breed club and therefore have to abide by the clubs rules ,code of conduct - they have also bred or owned dogs with a stud book number (which should indicate that the breeder has  hopefully good - sound breeding stock with excellent temperament )

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DALMATIAN PUPPY OR AN   ITALIAN SPINONE  AND WANT TO BUY FROM A REPUTABLE  BREEDER ! NOT A PUPPY FARMER WHO  WILL SELL YOU A CHEAP PUPPY !.   DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO BUY  2 PUPPIES.  JUST BECAUSE THE BREEDER SAYS YOU CAN HAVE ONE CHEAPER. THEY JUST WANT YOUR  MONEY.. .YOU WILL BE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE.. .  CONTACT any of our   Breed Clubs.. Just visit their  WEB SITE

WHEN BUYING A PUPPY DO NOT GO INTO ANY BREEDING CONTRACTS WHERE THE BREEDER / SELLER TAKES FULL PAYMENT FROM YOU AND STILL WANTS TO “OWN MOST  OR PART OF YOUR DOG” AND USE IT IN THEIR BREEDING PROGRAM IF , WHEN  AND WHERE THEY CHOOSE- .IF YOU BUY A PUPPY - YOU BUY IT OUT RIGHT . THERE MIGHT BE A CONTRACT INVOLVED BUT THEY ARE ON THE WHOLE ABOUT YOU AGREEING TO LOOK AFTER AND CARE FOR THE PUPPY YOU BUY, KEEP BREEDER INFORMED SHOULD YOU MOVE, RETURN DOG TO  BREEDER IF YOU CAN NO LONGER KEEP THE DOG AND ALSO FINALLY AGREE TO ENDORSEMENTS PUT ON YOUR DOG

. ENDORSEMENT  IS PUT ON YOUR DOGS PEDIGREE AND MEANS YOU  CANNOT USE IT FOR BREEDING. THIS IS DONE TO PROTECT THE DOG AGAINST BEING USED AS A BREEDING MACHINE.  BE IT A DOG OR A BITCH. THIS IS ALSO STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BY MANY BREED CLUBS

.THOUGH SOME BREEDERS WILL LIFT THIS IF THEY THINK YOU ARE HONEST , HAVE A GOOD ENOUGH DOG AND NOT OUT TO MAKE MONEY OR ABUSE YOUR DOG IN A BREEDING PROGRAM..   MANY BREEDERS REQUIRE A DEPOSIT- WHICH IN MOST CASES ARE NON REFUNDABLE. THE  DEPOSIT IS  NORMALLY AROUND 250 TO 300  POUNDS  OR THERE ABOUT. THIS IS NORMAL PROCEDURE  THE GOING  RATE FOR A  DALMATIAN PUPPY  TODAY  IS  AROUND  600 TO  900 POUNDS . YOU SHOULD EXPECT  THE PUPPY  TO  BE -  BAER TESTED - AND KENNEL   CLUB  REGISTERED.

 VERY FEW  BREEDERS BAER TEST, VACCINATE , MICRO CHIP AND HAVE A HEALTH  CHECK OF THE PUPPY BEFORE THEY LEAVE FOR THEIR NEW HOME. IF THE  BREEDER  DOES - IT CAN MAKE  A BIG DIFFERENCE TO THE COST OF THE PUPPY AS THIS IS AN EXTRA EXPENSE TO THE BREEDER. IT SHOULD ALSO REASSURE YOU - AS THE PROSPECTIVE PUPPY BUYER -THAT THE BREEDER TAKES THE TIME, EFFORT AND CARE TO ENSURE A HEALTHY PUPPY LEAVES FOR THEIR NEW HOMES .MANY BREEDERS ALSO OFFER 4  WEEKS PUPPY INSURANCE-WHICH IS “GRANTED” BY PET PLAN OR THE KENNEL CLUBS OWN  PET INSURANCE SCHEME..... ..             BREEDING CONTRACTS AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED  ARE A NO GO AREA.

Can I please urge you- if you are looking for a Dalmatian or an Italian Spinone  please  do your research. Learn as much as you can by reading up on the breeds, go to dog shows and have a chat contact the Breed clubs.They are there to advice and most important          Read up on Health Issues
